This was in my latest list of Google search queries. Some person searched google for topless inbetweeners. I am shocked, the show was based on school children FFS!

Looking at the search terms on my webmaster tools is quite enlightening. I never knew "Welsh boobs" were different and worth a search.

Later this week I will be setting off on a long car journey. The county of Dorset is a half way point so I plan to find somewhere to visit and have a few hours break from driving. So I type in "Place to visit in Dorset" which returns 1.8 million hits.

Presented with a list of matches, I proceeded to click each one in turn. After reading the linked page I immediately returned to the list of Google finds. I had no idea of what site I had just looked at or what other features that site could offer me to find the information I wanted. As far as I was concerned I was treating the Internet like a single "Google" website.

I live down south where the current snowy conditions have not reached. A hailstorm yesterday followed by a sudden drop below freezing has covered the ground with a sheet of thick ice, making the roads a bit nasty. Over the years I have amassed a collection of domain names, mainly as a result of experimental websites that never really went anywhere. Some are obscure names, some are actual English nouns. I did not like to part with them, they were like old friends so I kept paying the renewal fees. One day, I came across an advert saying "Earn cash from your unused domains" and that is when I discovered domain parking. Basically, you allow your domain to be hosted by a parking company, who use it to run advertisements, paying for any links that get clicked by my users. Continue reading "Domain Parking"

Having just installed awstats, I have been able to look at how this blog has been doing over the past year. I was surprised that I am getting hundreds of unique visitors and thousands of page views. Looking further down the statistics, I can see why. It appears that most of my visitors really want to see big bosoms! That is the main search term for links to my pages.

A rant today, having just found my mobile phone for the umpteenth time with a message "Are you sure you want to call the emergency services?". To make it worse, I get two buttons YES and NO - they are different colours but no indication of which colour is the currently active button.

I had my first chunky mobile many years ago, back in the days when they just made telephone calls. This had an extendible earpiece which disabled the keyboard when it was in the shut position. Even this one had the problem even when disabled, it still accepted the emergency numbers. First, I discovered that the "1" and "9" key did not disable, eventually realising that this was intentional, I eventually discovered that this was a standard feature on a mobile phone! Why?
